Lab 4: The Keratin of the Felis catus
Protein Selected and reasoning
For my protein I chose keratin, more specifically type II cytoskeletal 73[Felis catus]. My reasoning for choosing this was I recently picked up the video game Skyrim and one of the playable races are the Khajiit which are a race of humanoid cat people with razor sharp claws. Because of my character choice, I wanted to see the real life protein that would cause real life cats and my virtual character to have claws. ReplyDeleteAzeeem dude I love Skyrim, probably one of my favorite games of all time, but that bit aside it's really interesting to learn what the claws are made of, because I had no idea. If we ever have to do something like this again you should look up what causes felines to have better vision in low light settings. I know it has something to do with their pupils being able to dilate and expand to let in certain amounts of light but what causes them to be able to do that?
