Importance of spinal cord proteins By Robert Barker
As I am an aspiring Physician Assistant that will specialize in neurology, I chose to look up glutamate transporter proteins. The Protein I selected was Glutamate transporter (Homo Sapiens). Its main job is to move glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter, across the membrane.

The reference used for the name, amino acid sequence and nucleotide sequence is:

characterization and expression in human brain

Hello Robert,
ReplyDeleteNeurology is such an interesting field of study! My dream (even if I think it will stay a dream forever) is to become a neurosurgeon. It is great that you chose to talk about glutamate transporter because this protein is crucial to a lot of organisms. Without it, communication between nerve cells would be impossible. Great post!
